For "slaters," read "woodlice."

Curious title? I'm feeling mischievous, I think! That's a line from the first book Outlander in my favorite series by Diana Gabaldon. I spent the last few days devouring the Twilight series by Stephenie Myer. I read too fast...I should have made them last...I should have savored; but I gobbled them up and now I can't "get into" any of the books I've tried to read. So, I'll re-read an old favorite (for the umpteenth time) and that should 'fix' things. If you haven't yet discovered the wonders of Diana Gabaldon, you are missing out! Jamie and Claire have the best love story since Romeo and Juliet.

MAIL!!!

Holly had a giveaway to celebrate her first blogoversary and I won. I won, I won! I hit the mother load, folks! Holly outdid herself with the goodies.

What is in the pretty, sparkly lavender paper? What could it be?

Wow! Jelly Belly jellybeans, a Mill Hill button, a Doodles ~ Daisy Bouquet, bunny thread-drops, marking pins from My Big Toe Designs, a darling reindeer charm, "S" initial seals, a lovely note pad, a skein of WDW Confetti (a huge favorite of mine) and to top things off a gorgeous little lamb needle minder. All the goodies were tucked inside a mini zippered bag.
This was an awesome giveaway, Holly! Thank you so much!

There was a question...How did I get my Easter eggs so bright? Well, we used the standard Paas egg coloring kit. We had 12 eggs and 12 colors. We also have no small children impatient to see the dyed eggs so we put them in the dye and let them sit a long time. A long time. Holy smokes they got colored!

Crabby Taxes is still not finished. I wonder if reading four huge books in less than two weeks has anything to do with it? I only have a small bit left and over a week to do it in, so no worries. However...I just purchased a gorgeous design. I plan to gather the supplies for it this weekend so be watching for a new WIP!

Woo! Talk about a nice mail day!

I hear you on the reading-Twilight-too-fast thing. I am contemplating getting them in audiobook form so that I can listen to them since I've already read them. We watch the DVD over & over, and will do so again tonight... can't wait to get back to Forks!

What a fabulous gift. I´ve got the whole set of Oulander books, but only read the first one so far ... I´d better get a move on as Missy says there is a new one coming out.

Thanks for mentioning slaters! I have to keep reminding myself to call them woodlice these days! Other than my family, don't know anyone else who would call them slaters.

All that stuff is so cute! I've never seen those bunny thread things. That's the right way to read! I just sit and read the book. I don't want to have to try and remember what was going on three days later.

How funny - I was just thinking about the Outlander series and wishing I hadn't packed it away when we were packing up books. Sigh.

Congratulations on the great giveaway win!

Wow - great pressies! Isn't that a bright spot in your day?

I think reading like that is amazing. There is nothing like a book you don't want to end! Sometimes they are few and far between. I've got to look up that author when I finish what I'm reading right now. I've got my "upstairs book" for bedtime and my downstairs book. Upstairs - The Senator's Wife - not sure how I like it. Downstairs book - The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. Heavy book - it probably weighs a pound or more!! LOL!

I know what you mean about reading the Twilight books too quick, I did the same thing. Did you know there's a rough draft of Midnight Sun on her website?

Sharon that's a pretty nice parcel you got there!!! Sure Holly did a great job putting it together.

Your crabby SAL is looking good so far.

I'll go peek the Lizzie Kate exchange. She's one of my favorites!
