From the WIP Bin

After finishing the stitching on a couple of small projects last week, I couldn't decide what to do next. There wasn't anything seriously calling to me so I dug around in the WIP bin and came up with Peacock Cypher. This one keeps getting shunted aside even though it is fantastically fun to stitch and this (.) close to completion.

I was having such a great time with it! After work on Monday, I was really excited to get home so I could stitch. Life called. The kids (Jessie and her BF Matt) needed a ride home from the auto repair shop and ended up staying for dinner. Cooking, cleaning up, laundry started and I finally sit down to stitch when I hear a bit of a ruckus outside. Oh my, a thunderstorm and a doozy of one, at that! A few minutes later the electricity goes off. So much for stitching! Stillwater (and other places) had quite a bit of damage. The power was still off the next morning and I showered for work by flashlight! Have you ever tried to neatly arrange wet hair in a very dark room? Well, at least I was clean!

Crooked. Wrinkly. You will forgive me. You know the very second I finish posting here I'm going to be stitching, don't you? No, don't you ask me what the verse says! You must figure it out by yourself!

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

It's beautimous! You ever wonder how ladies used to stitch by candlelight?

Beautiful Sharon!

Okay, I have NO idea what the verse says...it doesn't even make sense. Am I missing something?

That's a pretty piece that's been sitting waiting for you for too long.

I've done that shower in the dark with no blow dryer. Disaster for a Frizz Queen like me!

Oh no! I'd have had some choice things to say about hte power outage. Your Peacock is absolutely lovely... darn it now I want to go start that too.

Oh my, what a pretty sampler this is! I love the color! Bummer about your power going out. At least you had hot water -- a good thing!

Ugly weather, two days ago we got hail, very unusual this time of the year.

I love puzzles, but I can just figure something:
"Ask the verse then never tell
Where's the secret...
Clever and..."

Oh my! I must figure it out!

It's looking nice so far :)

I have no idea what the verse says, but I love the way it looks!! That is about my most favorite color, and I am really liking this!! It has sort of a Scandinavian look to me.

That's a beautiful shade of blue. You're so close! I can't wait to hear what it really says.

My goodness, how did this beauty ever wind up in the WIP pile? No clue what the verse says - but if you hand me a flashlight, I might be able to figure it out! (wink, wink, nudge, nudge! LOL) I'm so glad you're safe - please stay that way!! :)

Digging around in the WIP bin is pure fun, don't you think? What you came up with is such a lovely piece. But the verse? Very mysterious ...

That is a lovely design, I can see why you're enjoying it so much. Wow, that sounds like some thunderstorm, I hope everything is back to normal now. Best wishes.

Ooh, la, la! It is a lovely stitchery. Sometimes a mono stitch is just what we need, isn't it? Power cuts suck....We are both ok for a couple of hours if the power goes off at night....that is how long our laptop batteries last lolol

I love, love, love the blues in this one!! It's so pretty Sharon.
I tried stitching by candlelight in our gazebo this week and it doesn't work! I don't know how they managed it all those many years ago.
Okay I was never very good at deciphering and this in no exception. I have no idea what this is supposed to say!!

Jo who can't think of a clever nickname said...

I can follow Sandra's decipheration! But I can't figure out the next bit.

"Can I have a vowel please Carol" - joke for Countdown fans.

We had a power cut last week too, lighting strike on the substation. Hubby fixed up an inverter to the car battery and we had 1 60W lamp. I had a piece of straight border to stitch luckily!

Ok... I have no idea what the verses say...... But it is beautiful!!!!!!

Doesn't it bug you when life gets in the way of stitching. But alas housework must be done. :) That stinks that the power was out that long. But the stitching is SO simple but SOOO goregous! I love it!!

Love the color for your WIP.

Seems like there are crazy storms everywhere. I couldn't get away with "neatly arranging wet hair"... cuz when it dries I look like Carrie's mother!

I bought this design for a friend. Yours came out wonderful, congrats on the finish!
