Fall Y'all?

Autumn must be just around the corner. How do I know? Look:

The leaves of my Pear tree are turning! We had a couple of chilly nights (bizarre August weather this year) that must have given my tree signals. Just gorgeous colors!

I'm also in the mood for Autumn stitching and started this cutie Bent Creek pumpkin. It's astonishing, I'm even using overdyed threads on this one! I still love my DMC most though!

I finished the Blackbird Designs pinpillow, it just needs Finish-Finishing and that will probably happen soon. I like any excuse to use the Singer 404!

The tragedy in Texas is unbelievable. My prayers for all involved are heartfelt. I remember what Mr. Rogers said when you see terrible things happen, "Look for the helpers." and my word, what incredible helpers there are out there. Blessings, blessings to you!

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

  1. Way to go on your BBD finish! I like your little pumpkin. Which Bent Creek design is that? I noticed one of the trees in the side yard has a limb with reddish leaves on it. Come on Fall!

  4. Your Blackbird stitch is lovely and I love your adorable pumpkin stitch. It will take a long time to see a change in leaves in Florida and I always miss the beautiful autumns you have up north of here.

The way the people have helped each other through the Texas tragedy is an inspiration to all. God bless all of Texas. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever

  5. After a week of hot temperatures the weather changed yesterday and it's rather cool and rainy now, very fall-ish. But I like it this way :) Like you I'm also in the mood of doing some fall stitching.
Your little pumpkin design is so sweet. I rarely use overdyed thread, I love my DMCs, too.

  9. Such a pretty BBD finish, Sharon! I've seen it done in blues, too, and I hope to stitch it some day myself. Autumn stitching has been calling to me lately, too--love the BC pumpkin piece. Happy Labor Day to you!

  10. Beautiful start on fall.
It has been really chilly here and now the fall is soon upon us, it is normally warm at night here in mid-Minnesota but not this year.
I love Blackbird Designs, this is a beauty.
I am saddened by the tragedy in Texas and some other states.
Please pray for full recovery for al in Texas and Manitoba Canada where they are having fires.

    Blessings

  12. Definitely a strange end to summer. August is usually the hottest month here but this year it was anything but hot. Mornings were cold! Today it really feels like fall! Still, I am trying to hold on to summer as long as possible (but your pumpkin is cute).

  13. Aren't the pear leaves pretty! Apparently there is a Little House Needleworks/Country Cottage Needleworks Autumn-Themed SAL on Facebook. Looks like your Autumn stitching fits in!
