Someone threw this jar in the trash at work and I happened to find it before it disappeared. Can you believe someone would throw away a perfectly good ORT jar? With this post the 2011 TUSAL ends for me! I have lots and lots of Old Ratty Threads in my jar this month. It has been such a stressful month with the discovery of Sheba's illness. I tend to stitch more for stress-relief when I get like that. It is so amazing that I was actually able to post every new moon ORT report this year. A how-to for new-ish stitchers. It never fails you don't notice the loose stitch until well after the fact. The little buggers usually crop up after a tiny twist in the thread finally untwists (sometimes days later) and there you have it. A loose stitch. I have another finish to share! I made a cute little scissor fob out of Lilybet's Joy freebie design. This is stitched over one on 28 count tea-dyed Monaco. There is a trio of snowflakes on the reverse. Tiny, it's around 1 inch by 2 inches! I stuffed this with crushed walnut shells and a bit of Lavender. Sheba at about one year of age. Sheba hasn't really been acting like herself lately. She is ten years old now and she has lost quite a bit of weight the last few months, she is also thirsty, itchy, restless and panting. Brodie said this Dancing Stick took him about 14 months to complete. If I remember correctly, the stick itself is about three and a half feet long. That is a good chunk of beadwork, isn't it?  The beads are laid over deerhide. The loop at the top and the feathers are attached to soft hide as well. The supplies for the beaded ribbon edging are easy: sewing thread, beading needle, ribbon, beads and your finished piece. You need a needle that will go through the small beads holes ~ check it! I use sewing thread because it is stronger than embroidery floss ~ don't want it to break! Here is how to cut straight and square on linen and plainweave. This won't work for Aida since the threads of that fabric are secured differently. The finishing is finally complete on my current project. Isn't he a funny fat bunny? I keep finding rabbit designs in my stash that I must stitch now. It must be the season. My last Ornament Swap arrived. I received this gorgeous one from Conny of Little Woman's Creative Basket. Isn't it wonderful? Do you see the little rusty bell in the bow? I love it! Today...I took this little bunny, gave him a wash, ironed on some interfacing, sewed on a button, seam-sewed the edges together, stuffed it with Lavender and walnut shells and edged it with silk ribbon and petite seed beads.... . ...to create this fob! I think this must be the most pitiful TUSAL post I have ever made! And I thought last month's ORT report was a bit meager. The only ORTs in my jar are from the bunny fob which is still not finished. This month hasn't been a complete wreck as the one reported in my last update but life has conspired against my stitching time in a big way. I'm holding out high hopes for a better one next month.My

Sheba can be the funniest Border Collie. This video was taken with my camera a few years ago. The ending is so silly! I made a new start yesterday. Just a little one. From my birthday stash, I kitted up the Bent Creek Bunny, chose a nice spring green fabric I dyed last year and pulled the DMC colors. The first thing I do with any Bent Creek I'm stitching with DMC is check the colors to the model photograph. They never match! See the light sand colored #613? That was the color listed for the brown of the bunny.
