Having wended my way through Middle Earth destroying a magic ring with the hobbits, I couldn't decide what to watch next. Then it hit me, Shakespeare! I watched Much Ado About Nothing and Othello yesterday while stitching. Lord, how I love that Kenneth Branagh. ***sigh ~ drool*** I shall continue tonight with, hummm...A Midsummer Night's Dream, maybe? Hey! Where is Titus? I have a feeling Jessie has taken him off somewhere. Return, please, dear daughter! Oooo, Hamlet sounds good too...
Here is a quick picture of where Crabby is today. Loads of snow so far. I don't mind the repetitive stitching, it's soothing. The area isn't too large either. It drives me nuts doing that border though...counting and recounting to make sure. I suggest keeping a box of pins handy for marking stitch counts. The next block will go much easier with the first one done. Oh, hell, it's only the fifth day of the month and look how far I am along! I'll have to decide which WIP to pull out when January's block if finished...
I had mah hairs cut after work today. I can't remember the last time I had it done. One nice thing about long hair is fewer cuts; bad thing too, is fewer cuts; it was looking a little ratty! I think I'm going to try fixing myself up a bit. I've developed a bad habit of not wearing make-up, or my contacts and pulling my hair into a ponytail. Can you say lazy? I'm sure I look a right hag some days. ROFLOL Hey, at least I shower before work! I do iron my shirts too...

Third - I stopped wearing make-up about 30 years ago. I have wonderful skin because of that; I'm growing my hair out to donate to Lock of Love. And I don't iron my shirts! LOL We are in a class of our own baby!
Hello I've come visiting!! can't stand Shakespeare so we'll leave it at that - but would you believe I watched Pretty Woman on New Years Eve (for the umpteenth time) and I still think Richard Gere is sooooooo handsome - but the ending of that movie still makes me cringe.

I know what you mean about fixing up. I'm clean, but sort of messy, I think, lately. Hair could be better (teeth are shiny though). Clothes are boring, but pressed. Eh--I'd rather stitch in my fleecy pajamas.

I rarely wear make up - although it means I feel much better about my looks when I make the effort - when we go out for dinner or on my birthday and Christmas for example - at least people can tell I've made the effot! I'm the same with my hair (also long). I'm a darkish blonde and in recent years it's got a lot darker. So I decided to have highlights. Very subtle so the roots aren't visible - the first attempt was dreadful, but we finally got the shade cracked - it's now 3.5 months since my last hair visit and although I can see roots that are 1" long, not many other people can (unless I oint them out)... and yeah, pony tails and quick buns for my hair most days (I even resort to a quick twist and a pencil sometimes..) - when I wear it loose I tend to get lots of lovely comments as it suproses people!!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE Shakespeare. I just don't own enough of the movies. Which Merchant of Venice do you have? I picked up a recent one with Jeremy Irons and Al Pacino. It was really well done.

I get a haircut one a year! Admittedly it does go down to my arse, but it certainly saves money. I don't wear makeup either and usually just go with a ponytail (but wearing a motorbike helmet does limit your styling options). :P

I love this project more every time I see it. The fabric just rocks! I can relate to your comments about your hair and makeup too. I lost my beautician when I went back to work and every haircut is a nightmare waiting to happen. But it is what it is. Can't wait to see the next picture. Take care.

ReplyDeleteAs far as make up and pony tails. Don't stress. I wore a pony tail for years. Then I cut my hair to just below my ears and am happy with it.
Makeup is just for special occassions and embarassing blemishes in my book.
