I had a great weekend. On Saturday, I finished up the August block of Crabby All Year...Weeds! I really love the tiny dandelion seeds ~ too cute! I'm thinking the brownish-green weeds might be crabgrass? What do you think?! This was a quick stitch, as most of the blocks are, and very enjoyable to work on. I think I'm ready for summer to be over. The hot weather should give way to autumn soon. I'm looking forward to stews and chili and a big pot of beans, ham and cornbread, oooo ~ chicken & dumplings...yum. Cooking heats up the house so much we just don't do much of it in the summer. We grill outside, eat cold sandwiches or get take-out. I want roasted turkey, baked ham and can you tell I'm tired of eating out?
Thank you for visiting my blog today!

I love that block! Such a fun and clever stitch. I know what you mean about craving something else to eat. We've been grilling and grilling and grilling. I wanted to make a pan of brownies this past weekend, but it was 95, so it just didn't make sense to use the oven and heat up the house.
ReplyDeleteoooooooo stop! You're making me hungry!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on weeds!
Love the weeds! Only time you'll hear someone say that LOL. I know what you mean about the cooking. I've grilled, grilled and grilled. We've also hit the fast food a lot more than we should have. Can't wait for the cooler weather.
ReplyDeleteLove your cute finish...and I too am ready for some cooking and heating up the kitchen, with comfort food!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about the food! Can't wait either! Great block!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I was tired of summer when it arrived! LOL...I'm more of a fall/winter person. There I said it. That's what ya get with a January baby...Love the weeds (not literally by the way) I mean I love the block that you just stitched.

Weeds is cool!
ReplyDeleteThis morning we had just 9C degrees so the autumn is starting to creep in on us. I like the cool air in the morning and after work the weather is almost as warm as in the summer.
A very funny block.
ReplyDeleteGreat finish on the weeds block! I'll take some of your hot weather please, we've had a rotten summer here
ReplyDeleteIn Summer i hardly use the kitchen for cooking because is very unpleasant when there are 40ºC (104ºF), so we survived on the basis of salads (a lot), roast chicken shops. There are too hot even at night.
ReplyDeletei like the dandelions! lovely stitching.
I could take summer all year round. I like to sweat.
ReplyDeleteThe August block looks great. Makes me think allergy will be around shortly. So I'll soon have something to be crabby about.
Great block - certainly describes what's happened in my garden this month. LOL Ooooo I want stew and pot roast. I love autumn. :0)
ReplyDeleteOh I just love August's piece. I am so tempted to buy this every time I see the newest section that you have stitched.
ReplyDeleteI love your weeds. Amazing how quickly it is stitching up. I agree - I am ready for autumn and eating all the yummy food that comes with it. Take care.
ReplyDeleteCrabby is looking good!
ReplyDeleteI'm opposite of you on the weather thing. I never want the heat to leave!
I'm so behind on blog reading this week, life gets in the way sometimes.
ReplyDeleteSisterhood is superb, well done and i love Crabby August.
Happy Stitching xx
There's nothing like good ole Oklahoma comfort food. My Gramma made the best chicken and dumplings. Crabby Weeds is a fantastic block.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great block. Nice progress. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your finish. Shhh... I'm not ready for winter yet. Too much snow... flashbacks from the past 2 years... nooooooo.
ReplyDeleteLove your Crabby and your blog! I want to do the Monthly Mockeries by Raise the Roof...they suit me to a capital T! Thanks for the comment on my blog. I'm going to try taking pictures with my OTT Lite and see how it works. I'm also sick of the grill! By now I crave gooey casseroles and stew. Yum.
ReplyDeleteOh, great. Now I'm hungry too! :) Love this block and those dandelion seeds are too cute. (I must resist, I must resist, I...)

So cute! I think I'm ready to move on the seasons, too, and this year we've had one of the coolest summers around. But as they say, variety is the spice of life!
ReplyDeleteGreat square and so true! Our weeds run rampant all year round here.
ReplyDeleteThis weed block looks great what a fun stitch.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about wanting some hearty foods and I like to bake too...but it just too hot to turn the oven on....autumn can't come too soon enough...hugs, Linda

Confusion Will Rogers, confusion... tired of eating out? What is this? LOL I never tire of eating out! I tire very quickly, however, of eating my own cooking. So does my family. LOL
