Thank you all for the wonderful hugs of consolation on my last post. I am still quite sick over making such a huge mistake. After much pouting thinking, I have decided to frog. I could space everything out differently to make it work but I'm afraid that would leave the door open to the possibility of even more frogs farther down the line. The border, which I haven't even started, requires the correct spacing. Seriously, this design is freakin' simple. It should not be so hard to avoid frogs!
I am finished pouting. Finished fuming. I was so upset, I didn't even read blogs for three days! However, I've caught myself up yesterday and today...although I was so backlogged with posts, I did not leave many comments. Sorry!
Saturday, I went out for a little retail therapy with Jessie (my DD) and my sister. We visited lots of thrift and antique shops. I found buttons! A pair of tiny scissors (not of good quality, but homeless) and an old coffee can in fantastic shape. I thought the can would make a great button container. Still searching for flower frogs. Fruitlessly. No joy.
In the garden, the Clematis has exploded! Just beautiful! It makes the heart sing. If you look close you can see how many buds there are waiting to bloom.
When next I visit, perhaps I'll be done with the frogging and in a better mood. Once all the crying is over, May should not take more than a few days, right?
.
Thank you for visiting my blog today
xox
you know even the simplest of designs have me all over the place
ReplyDeleteit is nuts sometimes
you think oh i am doing so good and the @#!$%#@!
yep happens almost everything i stitch - seriously
i feel your pain
just go console yourself by wandering out and viewing the beauty of your clematis
you will get it done
I don't know about you, but it seems the simpler the design, the more mistakes I'll make on it. Don't know why that is. Sorry you had to do all that frogging though.
ReplyDeleteLove the buttons and coffee can. It's always fun to go through antique stores. And your clematis look wonderful. Mine are so small, but it's only the second year I've had them. Our crazy cold weather probably isn't helping them either.
I've been there at the frog-farm too. Mine has been a knitting frogging. :-(
ReplyDeleteOh well .... deep breath and make some adjustments and start all over again.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful day with your daughter and sister. Happy b-lated happy mother's day.
Good luck! It will be tough but bite the bullet and get it done and over with ;o)
ReplyDeleteYour clematis are gorgeous! I'd love to photograph them :o)
I'm glad you've come to a decision regarding your Snapper Year, Sharon... I'm sure you can frog and still get the block finished by the end of May--I'm cheering you on :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you love buttons--I have a container of my mom's old buttons and I just love looking through them.
Spectacular clematis--yours are so huge! They look amazing on your trellis...
It will be a distant memory before too long! You did find some good stuff, though...love the buttons!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful...love the purple!
wow, your flowers look great!!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to the revised piece pic.
Your clematis is beautiful and
ReplyDeleteI love the buttons :)
I knew you would be alright - How sweet the finish will be when your frog is complete :)
Love your clematis - it was my Grams favorite flower.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the frogging - but I am so proud of you for pulling it all out - I would have banished to my WIP pile for a couple of years, lol.
Can't wait to see your progress (is that re-progress, lol).
Enjoy your week.
I know that wasn't an easy decision but you will feel better once it is all over. And it will be over and done and you can move on.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing thrifty finds and your clematis is gorgeous!
Don't forget when you all done frogging to put those suckers on a bus and send them to join my frogs in San Antonio LOL.
ReplyDeleteI have messed up the most simple designs. But I always frog them because, I know. You will feel better soon I hope. Here is a hug from Okmulgee. Did you have damage from the storm? We are fine.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with stitching May block. Your Clematis are just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers look great!
ReplyDeleteBTW, how old is Jessie - i mean cant you have Jessie frog it for you, and then you can stitch??
Sorry you have to frog, I knew you would choose that route. Once you get it all out you will feel better.
ReplyDeleteOn a brighter side go out and look at those flowers when you get down. They are to die for, or rather maybe that evil FROG should die.
God Bless I will be thinking of you.
Lenna
Hope you are feelinga bit better after buying those lovely buttons.. They are so beautifull. I'm glad your frogging for such a big piece it's hard to decide what to do...
ReplyDeleteOMG your Clematis is so beautifull, I love it. Hope too see a picture when it's complety in flowering.
I get a Clematis from my neighbour over the fence... it's light pink. I love it so much, When ur garden is done I want to plant a few too in different colors....
I'm glad you've come to a decision. Good luck with the frogging. Your clematis is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt needs a lot of courage to frog such a big part, but now you are sure the border can be stitched without problems. I agree with Deb about the simple designs. I do make more mistakes in then compared with the more complex ones.
ReplyDeleteYour clematis is very beautiful!
Your Clematis is beautiful Sharon, this is one of my favourite flowers.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the snapper.
Glad to see you have such a beauty around you to 'make your heart sing' after all that heartache. Should definitely dull the pain of the frog!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you have made a decision. I
ReplyDeleteHope that those frogs stay away (waving magic wand).
Sam's Club has the best price on tissues. You might need to stock up my friend...
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers and the buttons.
Just think about the pretty buttons and fabulous clematis, and how pretty May will be once you're done with the frogging.
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers.I have many buttons too!The kids think I'm nuts.
ReplyDeleteI have spent the past three days frogging and trying to redesign the name and scrollwork in my flipping cat sampler. Just one of those pieces where I couldn't leave it be. I'm still not 100% happy with it but's it's as good as it's going to get!
ReplyDeleteYour clematis is beautiful! Mine is nowhere near ready to bloom yet. I'm just hoping I get blooms this year. For the past two years now I've only had a few when it used to be packed with them. I suspect the roots from our neighbour's hedge is crowding it out.
The clematis is gorgeous! I know the frogging feels bad, but you'll probably feel better knowing it's right
ReplyDeleteBrave girl, but probably the righ decision - it would just keep bugging you otherwiser. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteAnd that clamatis is fantastic.
Gorgeous flowers
ReplyDeleteHugs!! I am a bit behind in reading blogs so today I just realized you were in a state of peril, so wanted to hug you even if it is a little late!! I love the flowers! spring is one of my favorite times of the year!!
ReplyDeleteI hope the frog has hopped off now, and you can get back to enjoying your stitching.
ReplyDeletePurty flowers, I love looking at charity shops for bargains, love it when I find some stitchy bits
I think its easier to go wrong on simple designs, probably because we don't feel the need to concentrate so hard :(
ReplyDeleteYour clematis is gorgeous. I grew one up a trellis between my house and the neighbours once. Grew like a weed on my side, only ever flowered on hers!!!
Oh I'm sorry you have to frog this part! I would do the same though. "Funny" how the simplest designs bring me to frogging more often than intricate ones. Must have something to do with attention...
ReplyDeleteSorry that you had to take out the entire block. But once you have restitched it you will be very glad that you did it.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful picture of your clematis. Last year ours were looking just the same, but this year they all perished during some cold nights.
'Tis better to frog than not to frog- especially if it will drive you nuts knowing it is off! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love that clematis! I have got to get one of those.
Great thrift store finds- I love scoring something at the thrift store!
Thanks for stopping by and for your nice comments on my blog.
Sorry to hear that you have some frogging to do - sometimes the more simple designs can trick you ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds at the thrift and antique shops!
Oh no, so sorry to hear about the frogging you will have to do! I've been in the same boat countless times and hate that feeling! ((Hugs)).
ReplyDeleteYour clematis is so big and gorgeous! How old is it?
Sorry to hear about the frogging! Blergh! :P Good for you for not taking the pinking shears to it! ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))
ReplyDeleteI am pea green with envy over your clematis. Oh my GOSH it is gorgeous!!! I love it. I have to show it to my DH. We nearly bought a house with clematis going up the side of the house on a trellis--it was gorgeous. The people who did buy it took it down--I was heart sick. The clematis that I bought last summer and just kind of stuffed in a corner in a pot has come back this year, yet some of my hardy 10+ yr perennials died off with the bad winter we had. Go figure. Okay, enough from me... thou shalt not covet thy stitching friend's clematis...
So sorry to hear about the awful frog visit. I still haven't really gotten back into Sea Stars after the mammoth frogging session I had on that, so know how you feel (((((hugs))))).
ReplyDeleteI love button boxes & those are a nice find.
Wow, that clematis is superb! Just the colour I want for my own garden. Am green with envy! :0)
