April ORT Report

I think this must be the most pitiful TUSAL post I have ever made! And I thought last month's ORT report was a bit meager. The only ORTs in my jar are from the bunny fob which is still not finished. This month hasn't been a complete wreck as the one reported in my last update but life has conspired against my stitching time in a big way. I'm holding out high hopes for a better one next month.

My sad little pile is pictured with one of Mama Joan's treasured chickens.

Since we are on the subject of the Totally Useless Stitch-A-Long I must share with you another donation to the giveaway. All of these wonderful items came from Sheila of Sheila's Stitches & Stuff. There are some that are just charts but most are full kits, including the fabric & floss. Thank you so much Sheila!

Did you know you can click the links at the bottom of my posts to read other posts related to that one? For example, this post is labeled TU SAL. If you click that link it will take you to all of my Totally Useless posts! You can compare my monthly ORTs or look at all the giveaway donations that have been made. How handy is that? There are also many other labels listed in my left sidebar, look for Quick Find. The bigger the font in my label cloud, the more posts have been made on that subject. I notice my Crabby All Year had lots & lots of posts. I loved that project!

You can label your posts as you make them. While you are composing your post, look for a box that says "Labels for this post" and type your subject in. Once you have made a label it will always appear underneath so you can use it again. If you haven't been labeling and would like to start you can go to the edit posts option and apply labels to your older posts. When I first began blogging I didn't understand any need to label but once I had blogged for some time I realized how easy it was to find a specific old post with it. I find it invaluable nowadays!

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

  3. Ok, am I doing the TUSAL wrong? I never empty my jar every month -- am I supposed to? I started with an empty jar at the beginning of the year and am filling it as the year goes on. Hope that's ok! I'm sure your ORT jar will fill up next time. :D

  4. No, Margaret...you aren't doing it wrong! It doesn't matter if you dump your ORTs every month OR fill up one jar OR add to your "old" ORT jar from ages ago.

The only thing that matters is posting a picture of your ORTs on (or near) the New Moon!

  8. Even though there aren't a lot of ORTs, at least you were able to get some stitching in. I hope that you get a lot more stitching time in April.

  9. Phew, I'm so glad I'm not the only one with an empty orts jar. I thought of just giving up on this SAL, but no... we've come so far! Keeping my fingers crossed that this next month will render some more orts for us!

  10. Ha! Don't worry about your TUSAL! It will come along. Things could be worse. Pop on over and take a look at mine. Liiks good from the picture, until you come to realize that is mostly from FROGGING! (LOL)!

  11. My ORTs are all photographed and posted. My ORTs increased by about the same amount as yours did... Hopefully there will be more time to stitch for both of us soon!

The addition to the TUSAL giveaway is phenomenal! There is going to be one very lucky winner at the end. It's lovely to contemplate....

I cannot believe how insane this giveaway is becoming. Whomever gets it at the end of the year is going to be smothered to death by stash (in a glorious way)!

And Margaret - I'm one of those folks just adding to a TUSAL jar I've had for ages. You're not alone!

  44. I HAVE JUST POSTED MY "WINEGLASS" FULL OF ORTS (NOT WINE)!!! IT IS FUN SEEING WHAT COLOURS EVERYONE IS USING!!

  45. Don't worry Daffycat; life gets in the way for all of us at some point or the other. I have really learned a lot about blogging from you and I am so enjoying the TUSAL (I just realized last night I had to update mine so it is out there!) and looking forward to a year of stitching and friendship. Take care and happy stitching!!!

  46. Forgot to stop over after I posted but my offering for the month is up as well. My jar is actually filling up faster than normal this year, surprising since I thought life with a toddler would slow the stitching down.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I keep forgetting to report when I post my TUSAL progress! https://zoomcity.wordpress.com/2011/04/04/tusal-040411/

    ReplyDelete
  48. I should collect my orts too...what a sorry sight that would be. Love the wee chicken, very cute.

    ReplyDelete
  49. If it's any consolation that is more stitching than I have managed in 3 months.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I may have you beat for the most pitiful TUSAL post. First it was late (posted 4/6 or mayby 4/8 I think); then the post consists of no photo (ort jar was packed) and the verbal report it was empty anyway having done no stitching since the previous new moon. Moving is h-e-double toothpicks!

As soon as I find the chocolate I will start the hunt for the ort jar, priorities you know.

    ReplyDelete
  51. It could be worse you know....The jar could be EMPTY! *shudder* I love the chook. There are always a few of those on the dashboards of our cars....
