I stitched this design once before for a Christmas card exchange in 2007. I decided to stitch it again for myself. It turned out way cuter than I imagined it.
Design ~ Pump, Leisure Arts leaflet 197
Designer ~ Anne Van Wagner Young
Fabric ~ 32 count white Lugana
Fiber ~ DMC
Funny thing, I started looking through my stash last week to find the pattern. I couldn't remember what the design was in! Was it a magazine? A leaflet? Book? Where was it? After searching through everything I could think of...twice over, for five hours and even posting on Facebook for help and then another two hours search, there it was. No kidding, I searched for seven hours. My pattern stash is ridiculous. I am a terrible packrat! I would take pictures and show you but I'm too embarrassed! Let's just say there are boxes and boxes and boxes full and I cannot bear to part with any of them.
What do you hoard even though you know you will never be able to use it all?
Thank you for visiting my blog today!

You are my soulmate! My craftroom is out of control and I waste lots of times looking for something I know I have but cannot find.
ReplyDeleteOh my, how I know this, lol. And the worst is when the pattern I'm looking for is in a magazine and I have to go through all the magazines I have. And I can be sure that I will find the pattern in the last magazine I'm leafing through, lol.
ReplyDeleteBut that pattern was worth looking for. Such a sweet scene with the little cardinal.
Oh my, I would love to see your stash!!! x
ReplyDeleteI really understand you. I also spend hours looking for what I need but always find what I was looking for the previous day.......
ReplyDeleteI'm moving my craft things to a different room and it's stacked up all over the place. This is when I realize I have a ton of stuff. I'm finding things I forgot I had and I still buy more whenever I go to my LNS. It's an addiction.
ReplyDeleteYes it is but a healthy one!!!! LOL
DeletePut me in the group with you! I do weed out periodically, but still have a good bit. Then add into the rubber stamping and scrapbooking stuff (which hasn't been used in years).
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone!!!!
Deletewe recently moved and when I pulled "stash" out of all the places I had stored it in I was shocked at how much "stuff" I have. Mostly fabric and lots of it scraps. I have a good deal of cross stitch stuff but mostly it is quilting stuff and I am ashamed to say I have so many rulers because I would put them away, forget where I had them or even THAT I had them and go buy more. What a mess. Now all my stuff is in one place and I am getting it somewhat organized -- but it needs to be pared down in the worst way!
ReplyDeleteOh it turned out super sweet! And I have lots of things that I can't part with :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely design - it's one that begs to be stitched again and again. :)
ReplyDeleteCute stitching and great f8nish!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I know this story. I can’t part with any pattern, and have a huge stack of cross stitch magazines which probably takes a couple of days to search through when I do decide to use a pattern from them!
Hugs,
Barbara xx
Oh Ya, been there, done that!
ReplyDeleteI love the design, and your finish is perfect, Sharon...I can see why you wanted to stitch one for yourself.
Hugs
Such a cute finish--I love anything with cardinals in it! And I love the polka-dot bow--there is just something about polka-dots that make me smile :)
ReplyDeleteA super cute pattern. I try to stay organized and label everything. I hate wasting time looking for something. Happy easterπ»π»π»
ReplyDeleteWow! Love this design and it finished up nicely!
ReplyDeleteI used to "hoard" wool, thread and quilting fabric....I guess you could include patterns as well. Just looking at it made me happy simply because it was "so pretty" and the colors relaxed me. Well...something just clicked about 3 years ago, and I have been de-stashing ever since then. And, I can honestly say that not having all that stuff feels so much better than when I had it. Of course...I had lost interest in most of those designs and projects...while you still have an interest in what you have. ;-)
Such a sweet finish! It sounds like you have a great collection of patterns.
ReplyDeleteOh my... I know the story too! Every now and the I say to myself I need to organize my stuff and de-stash a bit but it seems an impossible task!!
ReplyDeleteYour finish is so sweet!
Hmmm...I'm not telling you how much stash I have! It's not THAT bad but there's probably more than a lifetime's worth.
ReplyDeleteCute ornament!
Post a pic of the stash... you cant whet our appetite and then not show!!!
ReplyDeleteSweet little ornament, love the red/white trim.
I've spent the last 2 days trying to organize my crosstitch magazines, threads and books and patterns, along with all of my quilting stuff! I am a pack rat too! But I made good progress but I'm soooo sore from all the bending, stretching and lifting! I also started a file system in a huge tub with file folders labeled for various types of crosstitch patterns and this has really helped. Love you ornament!!!!π

ReplyDeleteI don't part with my stash either! Great finish. I had my own search story on my blog--it went on for years, lol.
ReplyDeleteOh ya, tell me about patterns!! And please do not forget the soft copies of free patterns that I intend to stitch sometime
ReplyDeleteAaa that teeny bird is adorable!
ReplyDeleteStitchers, hoarding? Noooo... Maybe if you take a picture of it, someone will chime in "Is that all?" lol. I think I hoard vintage crochet/knitting/tatting magazines even though it's gone way beyond the point of doing even a small portion of them. I just love the designs and pictures!
Cute ornie and yes, magazines are my weakness! They are all sorted into boxes in chronological order and by type but there are so many!
ReplyDeleteThe rest of my stash is very organised and probably take up less room than the magazines in all!
I did throw out all my Junior parenting magazines from when my 15 year old was a baby...
I just love this new finish! Such a great finishing job on it too. Seven hours was total dedication, I probably would have given up or got sidetracked along the way.
ReplyDeleteI too have a GINORMOUS stash. The last time I entered stuff in my database (which was a couple of years ago) I had over 600 leaflets waiting to be stitched. I know I will NEVER get to them all but I still buy more ;)
