Rolly Linen

I stitch in hand so the top of my fabric gets rolled up, the bottom too if it's long enough. This is not usually a problem on cotton, the roll lines fall out easily! Linen is a different beast. It trains itself into the roll and is stubborn about unrolling for photographs!

See how I'm holding it open with my needleminder and scissors? And all the fold lines? Such tenacity!

If I let it go it rolls right up tight. Handy for stitching but obnoxious for photos!

I've made great progress on this ginormous pumpkin...my sister talking me into watching Breaking Bad and this fill-in is perfect for TV watching.

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

  2. Loving your project! I'm a qsnap girl myself, but I admire those who stitch in hand! And I have to say, I've seen a lot of TV in my 51 years and Breaking Bad is among the BEST performances of any out there. Great show. Enjoy!

  4. Filling in blobs of color really is the best for "distracted" stitching. At least your fabric is good at behaving when you're actually working on it!

  6. This is a fun project, ideal for the variegated thread.
I stitch in hand too and if the fabric is rolling horizontally, I store it rolled vertically to smooth the edges a little bit!

  7. Lovely stitching ,I always use a frame but take it out each time a finish stitching, I think everyone uses their own way , My friend Ann uses a kitchen roll the inside of the roll , it may be better.
