I found a great bargain on a vintage Singer last Friday and we drove about an hour to pick it up. It's a nice looking Singer 404, a brother to my Jake. Its paint looks good and isn't too dirty on the inside although it's terribly dirty on the outside!
Ooo, filthy! Dash said he didn't even want it in the house! This guy is begging for a good scrub & wash and nice long oil treatment! He will be so pretty once he is clean and waxed. He hasn't told me his name yet...
I was all excited and would have started working on him immediately but I had a giant puzzle taking up my kitchen table workspace. I had to have a puzzle mini-marathon and get it done.
Dash and I haven't been able to eat at the table for a couple weeks, lol! Who knew 1500 piece puzzles were so freaking big??? Now, I've finished it and I can get started on the new 404. The puzzle will be going to a friend's house to take up their tablespace.
Thank you for visiting my blog today!

Woohoo, more Singer fixings! I saw a 223 in the thrift store last week for $20; that's the first I've seen one. I'd rather hoard all the attachments over machines though so I resisted haha. It's fun to get rid of the Gunk of Ages!
ReplyDeleteOoohh I love jigsaws too. I have a 1000 piece one which is yet to be finished. I have even downloaded an app which has a daily puzzle and many free ones. It's great fun
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good 'ol machine.
ReplyDeleteThat puzzle is awesome!

Enjoy your new to you machine! What a fun puzzle you worked on! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI have that same exact machine -- it is sitting in a box by my dining table as I type. I used it for years, replaced it a couple of times but never got rid of it, I still have it! I can't get rid of it -- it is METAL! You don't see that everyday! Good luck with it!
ReplyDeleteGreat find! And that puzzle is huge!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great old machine! I have my grandmother's workhorse sewing machine, also made of metal. But yours is definitely older. Love the large wheel on the back.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that was certainly loved! I hope the clean up won't be too hard for you.
ReplyDeleteToo bad your puzzle wasn't real, you'd have plenty to eat!
Great puzzle, what a nice pic it is.
ReplyDeleteEww your new machine is a dirty boy!
Playing catchup a bit here, so wondering if you managed to clean up the sewing machine yet.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love a good puzzle, I have the most infuriating 1000 piece one on the go at the moment which has odd shaped pieces, some of them look like they have straight edges and they actually aren't edge pieces but fit into the middle of the puzzle. It's making me quite cross but I'm determined to get it done!
