Dratted frogs

I'll be frogging this evening. Pesky creatures. This wasn't even my fault. It's bad enough getting frogs from miscounts but they are especially annoying when the key and chart are to blame.

I started the coat on Crabby November. Got all the outside stitched. Started the inside color and thought, "This is a really strange color combination." So I looked at the photograph which shows a peachy colored coat, not blue. %^%*$$#&#@! Excuse my language.

So I went to Raise the Roofs' website. Looked at their Oops page. Sure enough, it's listed. I'd read this before, I remember. However, even the mistake is listed incorrectly on their page! It sez : cents sign symbol is DMC 825 is DMC 3712. WTF?
I obviously needed clarification.

That's a circle symbol on the chart. There is no cents sign symbol.

Somehow, when I'd read this months ago, I thought they were speaking of the backstitching on the coins in the December chart. To top that, the color to use for the BS on the coins isn't listed so that reinforced that belief.

I hate frogs.

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

  2. I guess frogs are bad?! haha

I don't really understand what a 'frog' is in stitching but if it's a goof-up...I have a lot of frogs.

  3. I hate frogs too! Lots's of times I get mixed up when two symbols look alot alike. I should have learned by now to look closely at the pattern before I start stitching. HeHe. Althought frogging isn't a laughing matter is it?

  6. Oh no! Sorry to hear you'll be frogging! I hate flogs too. I, also, hate it when the centered marks on the chart aren't actually centered!

  10. This is the reason I stopped stitching Michael Powell kits/patterns which I used to love. When I wrote them that the chart didn't seem to match the model (Cottage Garden I), they sent me a NEW chart, which ALSO didn't match the model. Don't designers realize that we fall in love with the MODEL? Yes, I do change the colors from the chart or model from time to time, but when I WANT to stitch the model, I expect the chart to match.

I have a Dimensions kit I am working on now that has a flower symbol on the chart, but NOT on the color guide. So I checked the model and am carrying on as best as I can to match the color.

  21. Now that is annoying! It's like the frogs coming from all sides. But you've had pretty good luck with this project so far and you're close to the end. So at least not too much more chance of frogs on this one.

  22. It must have been the day for frogs to visit, because I got one of my own yesterday...I discovered that after two hours of stitching with one color, I was using the wrong one!Totally my fault. That is why I don't normally stitch at night--just don't do a good job with these old eyes :) Have fun ripping out--I'll be right there with you!
