After a gentle reminder from Cathey that I was really running out time to finish my March Snapper Year...I buckled down and stitched. I couldn't figure out why the chicken is pooping a pitchfork. Then it hit me, a foot? Wait, is it a foot? I hope that's a foot.
Since I've stitched three months worth, it's time for a quarterly photo! I like how each quarter rhymes. I'm having fun!
Now, on to finishing up that strawberry pincushion! For those that asked, the design is from The Cross Stitcher magazine, June 2009. (This is the US magazine.) Called Vegetable Trinket Cards by Kreinik. The design was charted for Kreinik Silk Mori. As most of you know, I'm horribly allergic to silk so I've converted it into DMC.

Great Big Thanks to all those sweethearts that have nominated me for blog awards. I am so touched and honored that you thought of me and thought my blog was deserving. ***hugs*** I am so sorry... but I am not going to play along at this time. It has been hard enough just keeping up with my blog reader and my stitching right now. I am hoping for more free time in the near future.

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

I had to laugh at the pooping a pitchfork comment!
ReplyDeleteMarch has definitely "blown" here. It's the windiest March I can remember.
ReplyDeleteWe're in the middle of a thunderstorm right now, and, of course, the wind is blowing.
Cute finishes on Jan/Feb/March.
Pooping chicken too funny Sharon...rofl! It;s looking fab.
ReplyDeleteLove it-love the colours!
ReplyDeleteVery nice...glad you made it! Happy stitching.....
ReplyDeleteNice progress on your Snapper Year!
ReplyDeleteThe chicken is cute. Poor chicken: having a foot at that place. But it could be worse.
ReplyDeleteFork he he he.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got it done in time.
LOL at the pitchfork. The first quarter looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLordy Sharon, you'd better duck, watch out for the flying poop, errr I mean fork! Either way, it ain't pretty:)
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see that your Ma doesn't blow anymore! LOL
ReplyDeleteLooks great! "poop" and all!
Congrats on finishing the first quarter of Snapper Year. It looks great! You know, I had to go look and see if there was really a foot...I didn't remember that at all! lol

Can't wait to see you strawberrie pincushion!!
Don't let us wait to long
March blows looks great - yes it must be his foot!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're at exactly the same stage as me on the Bent Creek! I wasnt a fan of the March one. Im looking forward to starting April
ReplyDeleteLMBO at the 'pitchfork' Sharon. Snapper Year looks wonderful and I am trying so hard to resist this one (and you are not making it easy for me)! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, he's not pooping a pitchfork, that was where the first arrow ended up ;D
ReplyDeleteSurely he's a weathervane and the pitchfork points the way the wind blows? he does look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely piece, the fabric works wonderfully with it! My favorite month so far is January, the snowman is just too cute!
ReplyDeleteI walked yesterday with a friend and it blew us around in Okmulgee. Sat. was worse. I like your snapper. I do believe that is a little foot. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so cool. The rhyming really makes the piece. Glad you got caught up!
ReplyDeleteI think i is a foot, like the chicke is skating in the wind. I love your progress so far, and congrats on squeeking in the March finish!
ReplyDeleteAh, blame it all on me huh? ;o) LOL! I got a good chuckle about the foot. You're right, it sure does look strange.
ReplyDeleteI got my whole year of snappers from Valerie! I want to thank you again for passing the word around :o)
Love the March finish - not sure if it's a pitchfork or foot but it certainly adds to the overall effect LOL
ReplyDeleteA cute March block and wow! awesome fabrics and floss stashing!
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas ornie exchange is very pretty, and am sure the strawberry will make a great looking pin pillow.
Now with the kids' slang, Sharon, even saying "March Blows," is tough!! So I have no problem at all with the foot issue!! :P Nevertheless, the whole Snapper is darling...I'd move that foot, though...it really might be a distraction.... LOL
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
I love this - great progress.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the awards!
Lol!!
ReplyDeleteLooking good!
I am finally getting to comment and it go thru :)
It's looking good, well done.
ReplyDeleteLOL @ the pitchfork. Another lovely block. Congratulations on the awards. :0)
ReplyDeleteI love just about everything about that March block! Thanks for sharing. If it IS NOT a food, I'd say the size makes it more like a serving fork...or perhaps a garden fork?? ;)
