A New Traveling Pattern

There once was a Traveling Pattern. It went all around the world traveling from stitcher to stitcher and I was blessed to be a part of it. You can read my experience here. Sadly, the last stitcher to have her (in March of last year?) has apparently flaked and has not sent the pattern on. I'm going to be kind and not mention who she is but I am really rather angry about the situation. Not to mention incredibly saddened by the loss.

There is now another copy of that design circulating in our blogging world. I thought I had bookmarked or written down who currently had it but I can't find it. I am sure someone will spot it and let me know! EDIT: I knew someone would come through for me! Thanks to Cath!!! ~ The New Sisterhood pattern is Currently with: Nan of Nan's Needlework Notions and is being sent to the next stitcher!

I thought it might be fun to start my own Traveling Pattern. I bought a couple of designs and when they arrived I chose this one. Yes, it's my Count Your Blessings that I started last week! It has few colors that are easily changed to suit the current stitcher and is a simple and quick stitch that shouldn't be burdensome. Easy to arrive, stitch and send to the next person. Sound like fun?

Daffycat's finish:
Design ~ Count Your Blessings
Designer ~ Shakespeare's Peddler
Fabric ~ 28 count mystery tea-dyed
Fiber ~ DMC

If you would like to be part of this new Traveling Pattern there are a few rules:

1. Comment on this post, saying you would like to be part of the Stitcherhood.

2. By leaving this comment, you agree (if you are chosen) to stitch the design and send it along to the next person in a timely manner. If this means dropping everything in your rotation to concentrate on this project...so be it. If you can't bring yourself to do this ~ don't sign up.

3. You must have an active blog to participate. If you have a blog but never post to it ~ you won't be chosen to be the next stitcher.

4. This is a giveaway-type Traveling Pattern. That means you must follow it from blogger to blogger to enter each time it is ready to send along. Commenting on this post doesn't make you a guaranteed part of the Stitcherhood.

The Traveling Pattern has been stitched by:

1. Sharon of It's Daffycat, Oklahoma, USA
2. Karen of Karen's Handiwork, South Carolina, USA
3. Patty of Hanging On By A Thread, Florida, USA
4. Terri of Chocolates for Breakfast, Stitching for Lunch, unknown location
5. Lynda of A Cozy Little Place for Stitching, Oregon, USA
6. Nataly of Nataly's Needle Creations, Massachusetts, USA
7. Erin of Fairy Tales & French Knots, New York, USA
8. Jo of Serendipititous Stitching, Suffolk, UK
9. Mouse of Tales Of A Stitching Mouse, South Yorkshire, UK
10. ??? Maybe you!

If you would like a chance to be the next stitcher please leave a comment! The next stitcher will be chosen on Sunday, February 13, 2011. I will try to keep up with the travels and fill in the next stitcher in the list as it goes along.

Thank you for visiting my blog today

  17. Sharon, I would love to be chosen to be next in your Stitcherhood. This would become my priority stitch. What a lovely chart you have picked. I also was in the "missing" Traveling Pattern list and finally bought my own pattern. It was "not" moving in a timely fashion!!

  18. Awww! that's too bad about the traveling pattern.
I have passed on a few charts to stitch and then offer on their blog to pass on, I have never seen any of them passed on.
I would love to be part Count Your Blessings.
I have been meaning to see if I can join the Totally Useless
    Take Care!

  23. Ok so this is different than a round robin? I like this idea, very cool. Yes I could keep up with it, it's small enough to be able to do in a timely fashion. I hear you on the dropping the ball. I have been in a few round robins and while I did get one back, there were a couple I never saw or heard from again. VERY disappointing. I understand life getting in the way, but communication is key! I heads up would be nice. Ok rant over! I will be watching to see what happens next....

  24. I would love to be involved in stitching this and passing it...I have actually stitched it and gave it as a gift, so this would give me a chance to stitch it again!!! Thanks for the chance, Faye

  25. I did much the same thing with a chart, last year i think it was, it was stitched by the first 3 ladies and i know where it is now but the person in question is not aswering emails and no longer posts to her blog. There are still people waiting to stitch ths chart.

I hope you will have better luck this time. I will pass on being included if you don't mind, i only have limited time for stitching at the moment, i will look forward to seeing all the lovely finishes though :-)

  42. Cute Stitch. I would like to be a part of the traveling pattern. I like the house and the gate and I'm thinking of something to change in the middle. So I could stitch the all around and then send the pattern on ;)

I like this idea more than a round robin. I'd feel a little bit uneasy sending a big package with my fabric, threads and patterns and not get it back.

  51. I would love to be included in this round robin, but I will understand if you fel sending it to UK, is too much. In which case i will watch with intrest.

  52. Sharon, I would love to join the travelling pattern group! I would love to be included in the opportunity to stitch and would happily post it along to the next person! Great fun to see where it goes!

  53. Because I liked the original pattern of the "sisterhood", I started my own little round in our German cross stitch forum. So far 15 ladies have stitched the design since I started it on its way last April. And boy, what the ladies came up with... I know where the original pattern is located right now and I am very interested if it will ever get moving again. Great design you picked to send around!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sorry about the fist pattern. I tried to do that a few years ago, and mine met the same fate. I rebought everything and resent it out, and told them I wasn't replacing it a second time. I don't know where it is now. I don't get why people don't send patterns along when they know better.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'd like to participate. I'm willing to drop what ever I'm doing to stitch it up and on the next stitcher. My blogging is getting better and I will continue to become more active. I hope you will consider me.

    Happy stitching

  56. I would love to be included in the "sisterhood" for Count Your Blessings. I participated in one last year (Live Simply by Primitive Needle) but I don't know where it is now. I had passed it on and that's the last I heard. There is another one that I do hope surfaces one day. It was an OOP pattern too.

    Thanks for considering me. :)
