Totally Useless February

It's the New Moon. Calling all you Totally Useless Stitchers! Get out that camera, snap that ORT jar photo and post it now!

Here is mine. Lots of ORTs in my jar this month. I'm really surprised how much stitching I actually accomplished in the last Lunar cycle. Now, I am emptying the little jar into the big jar and starting all over again...

I've been getting quite a few irate comments/emails from people about the comments being closed on the TUSAL post. Some of these have been downright rude! The comments are closed on that post because there was a deadline to enter. I'm very sorry if any of you wanted to officially join but were too late. Any stitcher wanting to "join in" is welcome to post their ORT jar photos on the New Moon but the official SAL list is finished for this year.

I do believe I will have a little surprise to share with you sometime soon. Yes, that was deliberately vague and mysterious...I've always wanted to be a lady of mystery and intrigue. Sadly, the chance rarely presents itself.

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

  23. I'm one of the "too late brigade" and I am choosing to follow this unofficially. I'm disappointed that I couldn't join but fully understand the deadline rules - I'll just have to try harder next time! Don't understand why people would feel they need to be rude or disrespectful.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Great progress this much! And Happy Lunar New Year!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh my! Now I'm all a-flutter wondering what you're up to.

  40. Mine's up for this month!

    http://measi.net/measiblog/2011/02/03/tusal-jar-february-goals/

I wish I could say I'm surprised about rude comments, but unfortunately I'm not. We sadly live in one of those societies where politeness no longer seems to apply, and the rules of an activity never, EVER should apply to them. It wouldn't just occur to them to participate "in spirit" with the official one by just posting their TUSAL jars anyway?

*sigh* In any case, thank you for kicking up the SAL again. I'm glad that it's going. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sorry to hear you've got some weridos commenting. I posted my update!

  53. I'm sorry you've had some rude comments. Maybe it would be possible to open a list for people participating in the TUSAL, but not in your giveaway??? You did make it VERY clear that there was a deadline (which I only just met).

Lovely orts, and I'll grab my camera now and snap my ort jar. I'm still undecided on the leave them in/toss them choice ;)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sorry you're getting nasty comments from people, it's just ignorant. The deadline was clearly stated.

  57. I posted my jar yesterday and began to worry that I was going to outgrow it way before the end of the year...but I remembered your system so I have decided to add my monthly ORTs into a bigger jar after I click a pic each month. :)

  58. Well, it just amazes me at the rudeness displayed in blogland. You are not the first blog I have read that has mentioned this. I can't comprehend stitchers of all people (who in my experience have all be very nice) being tacky. I guess it does prove that there will always be nasty people in every group. SAD.

I did post my TUSAL, and I am excited to hear about your surprise!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oh Sharon, I'm sorry to hear that :o( This was downright rude, especially since you've gone to all this work to organized and take over the TUSAL. People are probably seeing all the generous prizes and want in on that now. Just greedy if you ask me. Glad to hear you're standing your ground :o)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Sharon, I'm sorry you are getting rude comments about the TUSAL, it is A LOT of work organizing things (I know) and you gave plenty of notice about the deadlines. Ignore them! The majority of us stitchers are "normal" ;) LOL.

Mystery, I can hardly wait to see what you have planned, can you give me a hint??????

MY TUSAL was posted this morning :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. No good deed goes unpunished. So sorry for the negative comments. My TUSAL is going up tomorrow. Thanks so much for hosting this! http://litandlaundry.blogspot.com

I'm hosting "Finished for Friday" today, if anyone would like to link up something they've finished. Come on over!

    ReplyDelete
  62. So sorry there are some rude people out there. I understand why the list is closed - as one of those who missed, I will still post my TUSAL on my blog Good luck all of you on the official list

    ReplyDelete
  63. Sorry for the rude people. Makes no sense either. You can still play! Just not be on the list. I guess some people like the title of it all.

LOVE your ort jar. You've been busy!!! Posted mine late last night.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Sorry about all the negative comments. It's rude and uncalled for. They were given the same details as the rest of us.
I'm pleased to say that my post for the TUSAL went up first thing that morning.

  75. My post is up - rather unimaginative picture, but I've got a fit of the blah's and I can't think of witty things to say right now.
I'm sorry that you've had some horrid emails - makes you wonder where all these people were last year - or the year before!
Hugs sister stitcher - may your orts overflow.

  76. Daffycat you're doing a lovely job for the benefit of others - nothing in it for you, it's from your kind heart. If other people have missed your deadline they could open their own and pass on your kindness. Please don't take the comments to heart- look at all the positive posts. My TUSAL piccie is up but it's not as full as yours.

Sendings huge hugs and grateful thanks for doing this x x

    ReplyDelete
  77. That's plain absurd for people to be upset over the TUSAL being closed. I wanted to be a part of it but realized a little to late and did not make a fuss. I decided to keep my own little "jar" of orts for fun. It's neat to see all the bits of thread in a beautiful porcelain bowl! Looking forward to seeing the surprise!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I don't even have a blog (yet!) but I'm still doing the TUSAL. Mine is TOTALLY useless as I'm not even able to join in or post piccies but I'm still enjoying the fun :-)

Some people need to lighten up and be more Daffy!!

Sorry that you got those emails. Why can't people live happy lives and not let little things bother them. Relax, take a Deep Breathe and use that negative energy to be creative! You will be much happier!
    Love your pincushion, Daffy!
    Hugs

  81. Wow! Your jar is really ful! My is still anemic looking. Still stitching with 1 thread, so its a little on the skimpy side.
We're all off to a good start though. Thats what counts! Can't wait to hear the details of your surprise!
