Here's to kicking off the first Totally Useless Stitch A Long with a "Bang!" Or a some really full ORT containers, at least! It's the first New Moon of 2018! Have you signed up for the TUSAL this year? Look for the link above or at the bottom of this post so I can put your blog on the guest list. We also have a Facebook group if you don't have a blog and you can show off your ORTs there.
I have had really good stitching mojo but only so-so sewing mojo. My stitching ORTs are all from Les Moutons which is coming along at a good clip:
My wooden leaf bowl is chock full of clippings from On Ringo Lake:
Not such an attractive photo but everything else in my studio is covered with units of the quilt waiting for me to sit down and sew it together! Sew much to do!
=^..^=
Now it is YOUR turn...we want to see your ORTs! Leave a comment on this post with a link to your January TUSAL post so we can come visit! If I hold a Totally Useless giveaway your comment will earn you an extra entry.
Wondering what a TUSAL is and why all these people are posting pictures of rubbish? Click here to learn more and join the fun!
Thank you for visiting my blog today!

Love all your sheep.
ReplyDeleteYES a new year with new TUSALs. My yarny enterprises have not been very productive, but who says ORTs have to be made out of wool?
ReplyDeleteJanuary 2018
Oh, any your shhep are pretty, albeit I can't look at sheep to be counted without associating to, and almost tasting, hot milk to be drunk in order to fall asleep.
Wow...them's a lot of clippings! LOL I love your wooden leaf bowl, and your clippings remind me of when I was a little girl sitting at my Mom's old Singer looking through all of her wonderful clippings. I could sift through it for hours, finding so many treasures!
ReplyDeleteYour WIP is looking beautiful, Daff, and those sheep are so adorable, and your ORT jar is so pretty.
Thanks for doing the TUSAL again this year, we all look so forward to it...hug!
I have posted the pictures of my TUSAL here https://busydoingnothing24.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/tusal.html. Blogger is playing up and won't let me post this comment using my blog ID for A Bit of This and A Bit of That.

I had to empty my ort collectors before I signed up for this month, but my pictures can be found here: https://quiltorium.blogspot.com/2018/01/a-totally-useless-activity.html
ReplyDeleteGreat ORT collection, the quilting scraps are quite impressive. Forgot to add that to my earlier comment.
ReplyDeleteHere is my TUSAL report for January, so glad to be taking part again. My threads are few but enough of a start for the month. Your sheep are too cute and your ort jar is looking good. Love all those scraps in the wooden bowl has me thinking how many 1.2 inch squares could be made from them. Happy Stitching.

I think I'm going to show my husband your ORT bowl next time he questions my little jar and tell him to be glad I'm not taking up quilting (YET!) lol. Here's my first TUSAL for the year: https://rchreviews.blogspot.com/2018/01/january-cross-stitch-plans-tusal.html
ReplyDeleteHere's my ORT Report with the first tiny ORT collection for the year. Lots of stitching but I am mean with my thread, there's barely an inch left when I finish!

ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my blog post: http://acozylittleplaceforstitching.blogspot.com/2018/01/tusal-2018.html
Look at those little sheep multiplying! I’m sure you’ve said but what are you stitching them on – seeing your needlerest shows they’re smaller than I expected. Am sure you’ll be zooming through the next step of that quilt soon! How’s your arm feeling?
ReplyDeleteMy January orts are HERE.
A good start to the year!
ReplyDeleteLove the pretty sheep! Wow, what a lot of quilt clippings too!
