Chickadees are one of my favorite birds. You can imagine my glee a couple years ago, when a pair nested in the box on my front porch! When I took this quick clip, they were starting to fledge, calling back and forth to the parent birds, "Chick-A-Dee-Dee-Dee!" Before the day was over they were gone from the nest but I was able to watch the parents teach the babies sunflower-seed-cracking-skills at my feeder for a few weeks.

I love how this one turned out! I may need to swap the bow for blue in later years when the white is dingy but I think it's adorable. Yet another Christmas ornament this year. Are y'all getting tired of Christmas ornament posts from me yet?
Thank you for visiting my blog today!

ReplyDeleteHappy finishing!!
Very sweet. I am always impressed when people start Christmas stitching so early, every year I plan to start early and then usually begin in November. x
ReplyDeleteI love chickadees, too, and this ornament is darling! Beautiful finish, as always :)

ReplyDeleteHow great that a pair nested in a box on your porch! I don't have boxes up at our new place though I do have a feeder for the birds to peruse. Your ornament is adorable!
ReplyDeleteWow you are on a roll with the ornaments!! And they all look so good! You've finished them off really well. That is an important step! Great job!

ReplyDeleteLove your Chickadees , what a pretty bird . Lovely finish .Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteI love then too, so fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteThey will not sit on the feeder for long.
They grab a seed, go to the tree, grab a seed go to the tree, so cute and full of energy, back and forth, back and forth.
We have one that found the suet feeder, not sure he can reach the suet with his short little beak, but he seems to find a way.
Thats'a a cute ornament.

ReplyDeleteI'm not getting around much - internet issues. I keep hoping hubby will call them but I guess I am going to have to give in and do it. (I hate calling them - I'm totally lost when it comes to that stuff, I just know when it's not working)
Very pretty finish

ReplyDeleteCute ornament. I love chickadees! We have several pairs that live in the woods around the house. Between them, the titmice and the wrens there are enough bold, cheeky little birds to keep the larger birds on their toes.
ReplyDeleteI am not tired of your ornments -- makes me want to get busy! They are absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour chickadee ornament is beautiful!
