The first red bird is this cutie decorating his house for the season. White bows blow ALL the light back in your face when you take a snap. I love how the birdhouse has an actual smoking chimney. Not that birds decorate for Christmas either, right? SIGH, I was sewing on the last of the cording when I realized I had forgotten to stitch all the falling snowflakes...

Our second red bird is so sweet! This isn't a Christmas design at all. This is Bent Creek's Plum Berry Sampler! I stitched the bird in red and added a topknot, the charted bird is bald and blue. If you look close, I stitched my initials in green. Stitched 1 over 1, I stitched the little sampler bands only in Smyrna stitches.

The teeny tiny micro buttons rock this design. I can't wait to decorate my Christmas tree this year!

Both of your designs are beautiful, I love the backing fabric you chose, it is perfect, I do like the bow, it really adds to the ornament.

Both your ornaments look fabulous. I like how you turned the Bent Creek piece into a Christmas ornament. Where do you find your teeny tiny micro buttons?

ReplyDeleteI love these two beauties!
ReplyDeleteBoth ornaments look wonderful! The little red bird stringing lights on his house is absolutely adorable! You are going to have so much fun decorating your tree this year.
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous ornaments. I just love the way you've adapted the Plum Berry sampler into an ornament, makes me think of some of my older sampler charts in a whole new way
ReplyDeleteI have not looked forward to Christmas time this much since I was a child. Excited to see your tree come December!
ReplyDeleteThey both are so cute!! You do such a lovely job on your finishing :)
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are just adorable and perfectly finished, Sharon :) You could always add snowflakes with just a dab of glue and white beads if you wanted to! But, it looks just fine without :)
ReplyDeleteThey both look fantastic! I love how the bird is decorating and he is probably thankful it is not snowing at the moment so he can get everything in place!
ReplyDeleteThe sampler ornament is so pretty but have got to say the cute birdhouse gets my vote in this post.
ReplyDeleteTwo great ornies. I won't tell the birdies it's supposed to be snowing! At least they have the fire in the house to keep them warm.
ReplyDeleteLove how changing the cardinal instantly makes it Christmassy.
These are perfect! You will have a stunning tree this year.
ReplyDeleteBoth adorable ornaments and the backing is cute too!
