Patriotic Passion

I've made a good start on my patriotic basket but I'm going to need to find a bigger basket...I still have pieces to finish and others I want to stitch! I have two more finishes to share today.

These were such fun to finish! Both pieces have been waiting for years in the finishing pile, it's about time for them to shine!

Design ~ 4th of July
Designer ~ Lizzie*Kate
Fabric ~ 28 count tea-dyed Lugana
Fiber ~ DMC

That one was started in 2013 and had been waiting for finishing since 2014!

Design ~ Tin Pin USA
Designer ~ Twisted Threads
Fabric ~ 28 count Monaco
Fiber ~ DMC

I can't find where I posted about this one if I ever did. I know I stitched this once before in 2008 for a Fair and Square exchange. I enjoyed adding beads along the edge.

I poked all my patriotic pieces into a basket. The tuck pillow in the front is bugging me, looking sloppy. I may need to rehab the finishing on it before it makes me crazy. Tucks are cute but inexact. I'm a sucker for perfection...

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

  3. You give me great hope to get into my pile and get busy! With my pin tuck pillows to keep them neater I go just underneath and blind stitch all around to get it neat and flat. Then I either blanket stitch or do random x’s around here and there. They stay neat forever. I have some going back 6 or 7 years that are good still. Hope that might help

  8. Great finishes! I have a couple sitting on top of the sewing machine and one I'm trying to finish stitching - I don't think I'm going to make it by the 4th. Oh well - I'm going to finish them anyway and I'll be ahead of the game for next year!
Just put a few little stitches in that tuck pillow and it will be fine!

  19. Love these so much--especially the red, white, and blue beaded edge. They do take a while, but they are so worth the effort :)

Hope you had a fun 4th!
