Sisterhood, among other things

Yesterday, my blog friend, Oklahoma Granny, posted a promising recipe called Pizza Casserole. I love easy dinners after working all day so I came home from work today with the stuff I needed to create it. Oh yum! It was good!

I changed a couple things...the recipe calls for three cups dry noodles but I went ahead and used the whole bag. I hate measuring! I also LOVE cheese so I doubled the cheese it called for!

Rick was packing the leftovers for work before we were even finished eating! Thanks for a lovely dinner, Granny!

Zombie Jamboree

Holy carp, did the music scare you half to death? Yes, much as I (personally) detest blog music, I couldn't resist sharing a few of my favorite Halloween songs with you. Just clicky the pause button and turn it off if it drives you nuts. I'll remove it when I get tired of it, lol.

It's Crabby October!

I listened to Halloween music all day while finishing up Zombies. Here it is in all it's glory. I added the buttons for the photograph since the little sun makes up part of the design. This one went by much too fast. My favorite block and it's already finished. ***cries***

By the way, the Traveling Pattern is on the move again! Sara at Sara's Simple Stitching has finished her up (beautifully!) and is ready to send her on! Will you be the next to join the Sisterhood? Good luck!

The Sisterhood, bread recipe and lots of sneezes

Now, about that bread in my last post...I am not a Martha Stewart wannabe. I rarely feel like getting all homemaker, cooking and baking bread, I'd much rather sit and stitch and play with stash. When I do feel like baking...I seriously cheat! I use frozen bread dough. Put the frozen dough in a greased pan (any shape,) grease your plastic wrap, cover and put it in the fridge overnight. About three hours before you'd like your bread ready to eat remove it from the fridge, cut it into about 8 pieces. Dump about 3/4 of a cup of sharp cheddar cheese and a half cup sliced jalapenos over the dough and kind of mix it up. Make a pan shape out of the dough and put it back into your greased pan. Re-cover with the greased plastic wrap. This sits on your kitchen counter for about three hours for the dough to rise and then bake it according to the bread dough package's instructions. Easy peasy and oh, so yummy.

To answer a question...the fabric I tea dye usually gets about 10 to 15 minutes to soak. It really just depends how impatient I get. I'm pretty sure the longer you leave it in the tea the stronger the color.

Someone has the sneezles. Little miss Taco has been sneezing since Saturday morning. Big, wet, honking sneezes. And her eyes are a bit puffy and watery. I looked it up online and found out sneezing usually means a cat has an upper respiratory infection. Of course, kids and pets only ever get sick on a holiday weekend. When the vet opens tomorrow I'll make her an appointment and see why my kitty is sick. Poor baby Taco!

Her bags are packed...

That's right, Ms. Sisterhood is traveling tomorrow! There were 94 comments on the giveaway post. Not all of them were entries but that's a lot of comments! I usually print them out and cut them up to draw a name; more fun and involvement for me but that was 16 (OMG) pages of comments! I decided to do the random number generator and draw again if it chose someone that wasn't entering.

The random generator chose lucky #9! Congratulations Jill, of Purple Peacock...you are the newest member of the Sisterhood! I already have your address so I'll get her in the mail to you tomorrow! Thank you to everyone that entered!

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pattern

Look what I finished last night! Yes...finally Ms. Sisterhood is ready to travel! I feel like I've kept her forever and wish I had been able to get her finished quicker but she is now ready for the next lucky stitcher. Would everybody please, let people know by posting about it on your blog?

I have gotten many compliments on the fabric, which I tea-dyed. Perhaps I'll show you how I did it in another post. I used plain-old, everyday DMC as listed, except for Ms. Sisterhoods' hair and subbed 729 to make it blond. (I think it's a little too bright.) I was going to choose fancy overdyed cottons but when I pulled the DMC to match I found I really liked those colors! This was a truly comforting stitch and I was so thrilled to be a part of the Sisterhood!

Woot, woot!

Today, I received my Lizzie* Kate exchange from Michele of Just Another Stitching blog. I am really thrilled. Isn't this the best floss tag ever? I freakin' LOVE ladybugs and the colors in this tag are just gorgeous. Then, to top it off are the sweetest floss cards made from scrapbook papers. OMG! Thank you so much, Michele, I'm so pleased!

WIP

Here is a little update on the Traveling pattern. I'm not finding the time I thought I'd have the past couple of weeks and my mood is definitely off. Give me my stitchy time ~ or else!

Just another shot of the WIP. I swear, I centered this; Gremlins came, when I wasn't looking, and moved all my stitching two inches to the left.

I wanted to post this yesterday but there wasn't time to spare. Actually, I've been wanting to post all week but things were just too busy...I haven't even had time to stitch this week ~ horrors!

Yesterday was our 24th wedding anniversary! I can't believe the time has gone by so fast. We look so young (and slim) in this photo. Truly, we were young...17 and 19. No, the baby I am holding is NOT Jessie! How dare you think that? ROFLOL Jessie is a mere 21 years old! The precious six-month-old in my wedding photo is my beloved niece.

Here was my progress on the Traveling pattern from last weekend. With only a couple hours work put in, I haven't gotten much accomplished. I'm hoping for lots more stitching time this week!

Joining The Sisterhood

In case you wern't aware, there is a traveling pattern that's been going around since 2007. It's called The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pattern and the premise is, each 'sister' receives the pattern, stitches it and offers the pattern up on her blog to travel to the next 'sister'. I don't remember how long I've been trying for her, but it's been a while; I've been following her around and put my name in every time she comes up. Carolyn had her last and when she was finished and offered to pass her on...my name was drawn! WooHoo! Ms. Sisterhood arrived safely yesterday and I hope to be able to start stitching her very soon.

I thought it would be fun for you to see where all this started so I looked it up. If you go to the 2007 posts of Harmien's blog and scroll down, nearly all the way to the bottom, you can see where The Sisterhood first appeared.
