It is about time I drew a name for the penguin floss tag, isn't it? Or rather, I've drawn it; I just need to tell you who the winner is! Congratulations to dear Christine from The Alchymyst's Study! Christine, please email me with your mailing address!
I recently sent Rachael (she is my Floss Kid) some stash she needed and included a few gifts for the kids. Then, what do I receive? Thank you cards! And handmade ones too. Those are the best kind. Lucy made me the darling ladybird card with flowers. Jack made the striking black one with the glittery flowers. Rachael made the gold flower one. Aren't they wonderful!
Do you ever have those projects that turn into disasters? I would usually say no. Or very rarely, at least. Until now. I do not like how the snowman I am stitching is turning out. This is for an exchange too. Disaster! This is due to be mailed out in one week! Wahhh! I've never had an exchange project go south on me! I can't decide if I want to continue stitching this when I'm not happy with it or should I scrap it and start over? What would you do?

This is a tough call, I have started something before and just hated it so much that I scrapped it and stitched something else. If you don't like it it's probably better to start again with another choice even if it means being a little late.
Absolutely gorgeous cards! And for the snowman; maybe if you take a break for a day or two? You know kind of like a relationship; take a break and either it's worth coming back to or it's not. ;)
Oh, that was very nice of them :o) Great job on them too!
If it was me, I would scrap the whole thing but that's just my anal personality ;o) Are you sure it's as bad as you think it is?
The cards are so adorable.
Some designs need to be completely cross and back stitched before you see how pretty they are. If you like the designers works, trust her taste - I would continue stitching.
You should start something new, something that makes you happy ;) Thus you'll finish it in no time !!!
Cute cards !!!
congrats to the winner.
Wow! Thank you! I never win things!
Did I mention that I LOVE penguins?
Is the snowman a disaster because he's not to your taste (in which case your exchange partner may still love him, and I'd carry on), or has he just gone wrong? If so I'd probably start again.
If you think you might not make the deadline could you send your partner a token gift and a note explaining that you are running a bit late?
The kids are going to be thrilled to see you mentioned them.
I know what you mean about disasters I have just finished stitching for an exchange when I go and ruin it...so I am keeping it for me instead,I'll just have to do another one.
Sharon, I have tagged you. Visit my blog for more info :-)
The cards are beautiful. Those floss kids can be very gracious!
I would probably keep stitching in hopes that the finish will surprise me and be better than I thought. If you run out of time, I'm sure your partner will understand and allow you more time to try again.
Lovely cards received.
Being me, i rather start another piece, though try to finish them both then see which looks better to send out. Goodluck!
Congrats Christine! Such a great prize!
How sweet and special are those cards!?! All are very pretty:)
Re: your problem-I almost trashed my 1st exchange piece 3 times because I was off. I kept deciding I was too far in and kept going. I "tweeked" it a lot. Mr. Right blessed it, so I felt better. We're all picky, but sometimes we're our own worst enemy! And my exchange partner loved it, to my relief! Follow your feelings...
Congrats Christine!
Lovely thank you cards from Rachael and the kids.
If an exch project isnt going well for me, i usually ditch it and do something else, then rescue it later and keep it for something else, i know i wouldn't be happy senidng something i wasn't pleased with.
I love the cards.
I would carry on and hope the finishing would make it fab - failing that I'd ask for more time and do another.
I would probably start over!
the cards are gorgeous, I love when my kids make cards.
As for the snowman gone wrong, if you feel really not happy then start again, but if it's something you can sort out then take a day away from it and try again later. I'm sure you're exchange partner will love it regardless
You've probably already made your decision (and I'm guessing it is to start over) but I would try to look at it from the eyes of someone else- someone who would be gentle and objective and tell you "this looks good!" or "it really is pretty bad". There is a difference between the stitcher not liking how it looks vs. how it looks to EVERYONE else!!! Try to be objective and then go for it.
