It's that Totally Useless time again!
Don't mind me...I've been busy quilting and a few cross stitches here and there. Not much new in the quilt ORT bowl but there are a few new threads in the stitchy jar!
I'm to the actual "quilting" point on my quilt. Exciting and nerve wracking at the same time! Am I doing this right? Is this going to show? How exactly do you sew on binding? (quick visit to YouTube) Binding looks easy enough, no problem! Hmmm, that is not how I sewed these borders on...they might be a little wavy when this is done. I will know next time around. I keep telling myself, "This is a practice quilt!"
Have you tried anything new lately?
=^..^=

Lovely ORTs!! Such a lovely mix of colors :)
I've recently learned to knit and I cannot seem to stop!! My stitching has certainly suffered but I'm churning out washcloths like you wouldn't believe! LOL
Quilting is so addictive and does start to eat into your cross stitch time. I love quilting and applique now. I was really worried about my first go at binding, but found it soo much easier than I thought and really enjoyed the experience.
Have fun!
I have been sewing more and painting fabric. That is new to me. LOL ~Jessica

My jar is getting fuller - and some different colors too! http://sharah.wordpress.com/2014/09/24/september-tusal/
I'm really enjoying all your posts about learning to quilt.
I recently finished crocheting an afghan blanket, my biggest crochet project yet. So I'm pretty proud.

I have been smiling at your quilting progress posts too.
I have not tried a new craft recently, too addicted to cross stitch but I am going to attempt some more 3D creations next year.

Glad to hear the quilting bug has bitten you. My grandmother loved to quilt but I was never much interested in it. Anyway here's my ORT report.

As for trying something new, I learned to crochet earlier this year, and finished my first blanket last month

My jar is in a box someplace in our new house in a new state. This summer has been crazy and I have not done any stitching for a while. However, I have been finishing up other projects....so it is a trade off I guess.
Mine's up http://purplepds.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/tusal-time.html
It's your first quilt it's allowed to be wonky, I know mine will be when I eventually reach that point but that's not going to be for a long, long time yet
