When I bought that basket to display smalls in, I happened to check Hobby Lobby's embroidery floss to see if they had the newly published DMC colors. They did! I've been checking every place I go that sells floss and it's finally happening here.
I got them bagged up as soon as I got home. If you are new here, I have a detailed post about how I store my floss here - Embroidery Floss. The Bagged floss gets stored in my Cabinet.
I finished this Milady's Needle Partridge in a Pear Tree design from the 2012 JCS Ornament issue. Waiting now to be finished.
I also finished USA Squared by Lizzy Kate. Just needs finishing. I've stitched this one once before but I RAK'ed it to Karen.
I was going to "new start" another Bent Creek design, Happy Flag Flag Day but when I got out the chart I thought it looked too familiar and a quick search of my blog revealed I had already stitched it. So I had to go dig the finish out of storage in the basement and add it to my patriotic basket. Are ya'll sick of seeing this basket yet?
So, for my new start, I needed a change of pace and chose this Stacy Nash Primitives Netty's Sampler Pinkeep Drum. A very small start so far!
Okay, so how many of you have gone to start a new project only to realize you've already stitched it, finished it and forgot about it? I hope I'm not alone here...

First off, I love seeing your basket and all it's stitching loveliness! Secondly, you are definitely not alone in wanting to stitch something only to find you've done it before and have it in storage :) Thank you so much for sharing :)
The patriotic basket is wonderful! I have an excel spredsheet with all my finishes and I still once in a while stitch a small I have stitched before.
My search for the 35 new colors continues, DMC said they were at Michael's, nope, checked Joanns, nope, so I will call Hobby Lobby and see if they do. Your finishes are beautiful Sharon and love the wire basket.
Hugs, Sandy
I won't tire of seeing your patriotic goodness in your basket. I have picked something that I have previously stitched, so you aren't alone. I liked the LK piece on that blue gingham fabric. Enjoy your week!
Hands up, I have done it twice and stitched them ha, so they became gifts .
Love your new finishes .
Love your basket keep showing it.
Enjoy your new week.
More cute finishes.
No, I don't think any of us are tired of you Patriotic basket!
Love your new start.
Marilyn
I still think your basket is adorable and I'm definitely not sick of seeing it.
And I have to admit, I've never accidentally stitched (or started to stitch) the same thing twice, though I am in the habit of accidentally /purchasing/ the same thing more than once ;)
Not sick of your basket at all! Love your two new finishes!
The patriotic basket is amazing! My goal is to have something like that for next year! Yes, I better get stitching. Your finishes are lovely too.
Such cute new finishes, Sharon! I have never stitched anything on that gingham fabric, but it sure looks nice with the LK finish. Glad you remembered your Happy Flag Flag Day finish before it was too late--it looks wonderful in your patriotic basket. Hope you enjoyed a lovely 4th of July!
Lots of stitchy goodness here. Your finishes are always so precise.
I've definitely done that thing of forgetting a finish and getting excited about stitching a design. Sometimes I've gotten 1/2 way through before I have to do the face palm thing.
Love that partridge ornament. Just checked it out in that old JCS issue. I don't think I ever noticed it before. It's really pretty.
Starting something after you've already stitched it? I guess that would require finishing something... :-) Will have to check out Hobby Lobby next time I head to Richmond for those threads. And DEFINITELY going to dig through my files to find that partridge piece. You're moving right along on everything. Love the basket.
Thanks for the heads up on Hobby Lobby selling the new colors individually!
Have fun stitching!
Glad you found the new colors. Great finishes too.
Ooo thanks for the tip that they're at Hobby Lobby! I have looked at Jo Ann's and no hint anything other than DOWNSIZING THE EMBROIDERY SECTION (cry). I'll have to investigate Michael's too.
I love the patriotic basket! I don't think I've stitched anything twice though I tend to put my "completed" charts in a separate folder entirely so maybe that protects me!
OOHH thank you for the heads up! Will have to check our Hobby Lobby for the new colors. Absolutely LOVE your patriotic basket!!! Beautiful stitching
I think your basket looks great!
The only designs I have to check are the Just Nan smalls because they can be quite similar. But I have my Happy Dance blog to keep me on track.
I was once almost entirely finished stitching a piece before I realized I had already stitched it once! LOL. A Ewe and Eye pattern.
Keep showing the basket, it looks better and better as you add to it!
I haven't gotten the new floss yet, but nice to hear where I can find it, thanks.
