A Bit O' the Green

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I was out of green food color so I couldn't dye my after-work beer green for the holiday. Poo. I was so disappointed! However, I was pleased the green fabric showed up better in this snap of my bunny. Fabric color is always so iffy when you take a photo, isn't it? I haven't had much stitching time this week. There was a project I've been doing at work and I've come home exhausted every evening. The good thing is, I had to come home early today and will have to again tomorrow or I will be in overtime.

Once I get this flower in, there is only the background to stitch. I'm looking forward to seeing him come alive when he gets his whiskers & eyes. I do believe he will become a scissor fob. There is a problem though...I want silk ribbon for the edging. I have no silk ribbon. I am also terribly allergic to silk so I don't want to buy any. So I have a request...Is there anyone that has a couple of feet of 4mm Mauve silk ribbon (the kind used for ribbon embroidery) they could send to me? You would be such a blessing! I'd like to try it out before I go buying stuff I can't use. I am hoping, hoping, hoping I can use my Gloves In A Bottle lotion and not have a reaction.

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

I'm sorry I don't have the ribbon you need. :-( Hope someone can help you out.

You could try using those gloves that hairdressers use when they dye hair too. They fit pretty snugly and would protect you from the silk fibers.

That's a very pretty fabric! Happy St. Patty's Day to you, too!

No ribbon here ... sorry.

I have a brighter pink (more like DMC 899( that I think is 4mm - slightly wider than 1/8 inch. Be happy to send it to you if nobody comes up with a better match to what you are looking for.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I love your little bunny stitch. It's so nice to see these spring stitches popping up on all the blogs. Time for me to get started on one.
Sorry I'm not able to help you on the ribbon issue. I don't have any silk ribbon at my place.

I'm sure I do have some of what you need - the silk ribbon, I mean. e-mail me: kruzesoap@aol.com and I'll be happy to send it along to you.

I'm going into the shop tomorrow, so let me see if they have some (I don't in my stash). I'll let you know tomorrow evening. How awful to have a silk allergy--I love stitching with silk. Is it also silk floss that bothers you?

Blind bunny is adorable!
I've probably got some silk ribbon you could have, if you want to send me your snail mail (unless someone a bit closer to home offers you some, it might take a few days to get to you from here).
Have you tried using organza ribbon, it might avoid the allergy problem?

Too bad about the green beer.

Your bunny looks adorable! Good luck on using the silk.

I may have some ribbong which I have not used in maybe 10 years! Will be nice to finally put it to good use. Just checked my stash I have what looks like an unused card of Rainbow Gallery Splendor Silk Ribbon color RS824 - it is variegated and if is indeed a full card should be 4 yards. Let me know if you think it will work.

Ooooh, cute stirrings of a squirrel!! I hear ya about fabbie color. Buying them gives me imaginary hives, cos I'm never quite sure if the pictures are true to what they look like IRL.

YAY for not having to work tomorrow. Hope you get lots of stitching done. Good luck with the non-allergic reaction.

Sheba is adorable! I love her (non) reaction. :)

Awesome stash; I hadn't seen Frightfully Fun before.

Happy Belated Birthday!

Oh, P.S.! I haven't forgotten about the book I'm supposed to be sending you, but no word yet on when. Heh-he.

This piece isn't finished yet and it's already putting a smile on my face 'cause it just screams "Spring". :) I hope you find just the ribbon you need for this sweetie. (soory I can't help, I haven't ventured far from the safety net of DMC and a few specialty threads - YET)

Your bunny is so adorable! I have been searching your blog since you mentioned on a previous post that you dye your fabric. I am thinking about giving it a go myself. I just hope my results are half as good as yours. Can't wait to see how you finish this little fellow. Take care!
