I had a virus

Not like H1N1 or even the common cold...a computer virus! How did that happen? It trashed stuff on my computer so I decided to wipe it sterile and start over. A good thing Jessie's boyfriend is a computer whiz...Matt helped me save all my stuff and get me going again. Indeed, the kid wasted half the last day of his holiday vacation working on my computer! So, I am finally back. The re-install saved all my feeds but marked all 600 blogs in my reader as unread! OMG, I have 600 blogs??? How did that happen? Well, nothing for it...there was no way I could check all 600 feeds. I will probably use my Google Reader more now though rather than depend on IE's feed display! I know I have missed important posts, lots of great stitching, new starts, exciting rants and lovely freebies. If you feel I may have missed something really important, please let me know!

Having no Internet distractions over the weekend, I was able to finish the stitching on my Valentine's exchange piece. I will try to get it finish-finished soon as it is due to be mailed by the end of January. Speaking of January, I was also able to get a start on my Bent Creek Snapper Year! The fabric I decided on is Silkweaver's Sand...that was the overwhelming choice in the poll as well. I'm stitching this using DMC, all in one long row ~ the fabric is 52 inches wide! Great progress for one morning's worth of stitching!

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

It's amazing how much stitching we can get done when we stay off of the computer, lol!

Glad your computer is feeling better!

OMG!!! I had a virus once and I was so mad I kept yelling at the bugger that decided he needed to make that particular virus that attack MY computer! ARGH! I feel for you! But hey, you got good stitching time, so there's a plus side to everything...right?? Your January snapper is looking great! I'm looking forward to watching your progress on it :)

Zone alarm anti virus...worth every penny! Glad you had people around you that could help. If not for my husband I couldn't do anything on the computer!

I think your stitching looks promising. Can't wait to see the whole thing!

Sorry to hear about your virus. It happens, no matter how careful you are.

Great stitching start.

Boo, hiss to the nasty virus maker. I am glad you are back with us.

Yipee for you for starting the Bent Creek piece - anxious to see more!

Oh Noes!! Darn pesky viruses!! Avast! Antivirus works great and it's free. Always does alarms when I hit a bad page and blocks it.

Your Snappers start is looking great! I can't wait to see it transform with the DMC colors!

Great start to your Bent Creek Snapper Year.

It is amazing at all a person gets done when there is no computer (internet) to distract you, but a person feels so 'lost' when it is not there.

We seem to be having some computer issues here too. Fortunately it's on the desktop and my laptop is still functioning. It can be really annoying, especiall when my DH takes over my laptop, lol!
I love your Snapper start. I'm using the same fabric for my LHN ornament and I love it.

I hate computer issues! I'm not a very technical person and it is frustrating. Glad yours worked out without requiring the purchase of a new computer.

Nice new start! I'm looking forward to seeing it progress.

We've all been there. Glad you got all your good stuff saved.

Good start on your piece. The contrasting colors of the floss and fabby look great.

Sorry about your computer being invaded by a virus. My operating system crashed about a month ago and it was an effort trying to get back up and running from scratch. I can relate totally.

Love the design you are stitching. The fabric is perfect! Take care.

What a horrible experience! Anyway glad to know most of your stuff has been restored!

Wow--I can't imagine stitching on 52" fabric! I am struggling with the size of Christmas at HRH and it is nowhere near that! It will be great to watch your progress on it this year, Sharon :)

Glad you have someone who can help you with your computer problems--I honestly don't know what I would do without my software engineer son living nearby!

I'm glad you didn't lose any STUFF, and that you're back up and running. Remember to back up your goodies regularly, just in case!

It's amazing how much we can get done without the computer, lol. I've started doing about 30 minutes of XS first thing in the mornings BEFORE I turn mine on - once it's on, I tend to lose track of time, LOL.

Hi,
I'm glad your computer is fixed and nice stitching.

So glad to see that the computer has survived. The snapper is going to be a fun piece to stitch. I'm looking forward to watching this one. I just visited another blog where the author decided to give up on this piece because she didn't know how to handle all that fabric.

Great start to the project, I think that fabric will look lovely with the patterns. Glad to hear your computer is feeling better!

Snapper looks lovely already. It will be stunning and I'm really looking forward to seeing it grow. Get the holy water out for the computer! It is rotten when it happens.

OMG, that blows! I'm so sorry. I have had computer problems in the past and it's no fun! But your start looks great :)

Isn't it great how much stitching can be done when the computer is down? And inspite of this I don't want to miss my daily computer time.
Nice start on your monthly project.
