The Rest of the Story ~ A TUSAL Post

Today I received an unexpected email. It was from M ~ Yoyo's daughter. Those of us who are long-time TUSAL-ers remember Yoyo ~ the original host of the Totally Useless Stitch A Long. Yoyo blogged at Dragon My Needle, a blog that no longer exists. Many, many of us have long wondered what happened to our dear friend. With M's email we know the rest of the story.

Yoyo suffered a bad stroke and can no longer stitch or blog.

Yoyo is the cause of this ginormous ORT jar.

M wanted me to know how pleased she and her mother were to learn we were carrying on with the Totally Useless Endeavor. I wanted you all to know what happened and to give you the chance of sending any wishes or greetings for Yoyo...M is reading these Useless Posts to her. Leave a comment and Yoyo will be told!

M also wanted to know if there was anyone Yoyo owed an exchange or gift to? She has several items labeled as such but no way of knowing where they go. Send me an email and I'll get you in touch.

Are you are from outside of the United States and wondering what "The Rest of the Story" means? It was a radio talk show segment by Paul Harvey. I grew up listening to it, mostly in my Dad's work truck. It brings back nostalgic memories.

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

I am so glad that the mystery has been solved. I've often wondered what happened to Yoyo. I'm sorry to hear of her stroke and her not being able to stitch and blog. She was avid in both. I wish her the best in her recovery and will think of her each time I drop orts into my little jar.

I'm so glad M got in touch to let us all know what happened. I've thought about Yoyo often, and always hoped she was doing well. Yoyo will definitely be in my thoughts.

She had told me she was sending me a gift, but it certainly isn't important now. Concentrate on getting better, Yoyo!

So sad but glad to know. Dear Yoyo, you were such a help to me with some blogging points - it is entirely thanks to you that I can put a link into my blog and a couple of other pointers. I use your tape measure from one of the exchanges often. In fact, it was all we had in the middle of a move when tempers were a little, um, well you can guess and we needed to know a width! Love to you and thank you to M for getting in touch with Sharon. xxx

I joined Yoyo's TUSAL many moons ago because I loved the idea of it! Yoyo was very helpful, pointing out how to solve various blogger problems and visiting my blog. She was one of my first followers and I have met many wonderful bloggers through TUSAL.

Yoyo, thank you for starting TUSAL, it is a fun way to showcase those orts!

Though I don't participate in the TUSAL, I have always enjoyed the idea and seeing everyone's posts, so hearing that the originator of this SAL is not able to stitch or blog is heartbreaking. I am glad that the blogging community now knows what has happened to a fellow blogger that fell off the grid though. Thanks to M for letting us all know!My thoughts and hugs go out to Yoyo!

Oh dear Daffy! Yoyo is in my prayers! Sorry I'm so late with my ORT REPORT this month! I have just posted! Sorry for the delay - been busy organising stitching days!!

I remember you talking about this and how she just disappeared, and you took over the TUSAL.

I don't know Yoyo, but my heart goes out to her! I know lots of people online and it's hard when someone disappears and you have no idea what happened. You forever wonder and worry that they are okay.

Oh Thank her daughter! I'd been wondering about what happened to Yo-yo. Glad to hear some news and I hope she stay's healthy.

It's funny to think that in this day we'd need a list of places we visit on the internet so our loved ones could tell our online friends when something happens to us.

Thanks Sharon for letting us know what happened to Yoyo.

M please tell Yoyo that I'm praying for a speedy recovery, my dad had a stroke almost three years ago and I know how things become. I enjoyed a lot her TUSAL, there are many items I made with the orts of previous years, they're among friends now. Give her a big hug from a stitching pal in Venezuela :o)

Big hugs to Yo-YO and I wish you a very speedy recovery. I too owe her a depth of gratitude for emailing me privately a couple of times to help me with blogging issues.

I have missed reading her blog and maybe M could post the blog back into blogland so that it remains for us to read in years to come. Remove the comment button... so it is more an archive. As I personally would love to be able to read it over.

Once again - Hugs
